...charity shopping

Charity shopping is one of my favourite pastimes. Ever. I just love it. In fact, I think I am a little bit addicted to it. I visit the charity shops in my area at least once a week. Whenever we go to a new place, the first thing I like to do is-you've guessed it-check out the chazzers. It is the most exciting way to shop. For a start, it is guilt free shopping because you know your money is going to a good cause. Also it's just really exciting! I get such a rush if I find something cool and different.
We were lucky enough to buy our first home last February, and this has brought a new purpose to my 'thrifting'. It has been such a joy to be able to hunt out original and quirky treasures to help make our new house feel like ours. I have had so much luck with my finds that I struggle to understand why anyone would buy anything new-the chazzers are just bursting with beautiful loot. Check out my recent finds...

A beautiful embroidered rose. I love to think that the clever person who sewed this would be delighted to know that it is still loved, hanging in someone's home. I think it's so pretty.

I did a little squeal when I saw this. I could not believe my luck! I'm not sure where it is from originally (the label says 'Tapestry'), but I am so excited to be wearing this this winter!

Mmmm...you can probably spot a bit of a theme here. Yes, I love hand embroidery, and I picked this cushion cover up for just £1!

Cute and kitsch. Love it.

So there you have it! And these treasures were found just in the last few weeks (I have too many trinkets/junk to photograph for just one post). I will keep you updated on my future favourite finds.

Ps. Sorry for poor quality photos-we've lost our SLR charger! Nightmare!
